Who should be legally liable for skin cancer in high risk sports?

Assume you were an athlete, coach, or official in a high risk outdoor sport and you have developed skin cancer. Assume that participation in sports was the main reason why you were exposed to high levels of harmful UVB sunlight.

Further assume that at no time did administrators of the sport provided education about skin cancer. Also assume that you were never provided with sun screen or protective clothing as part of the equipment and uniform package you were given.

Should anyone be liable for your disease? If so, what kind of legal theory might you need to use, and how would you go about collecting damages?
